Consider some or all of the following, when choosing an object:
1) What are the object’s physical characteristics?
-What does it look like
-What does it feel like (texture)
-Does it have a smell, a taste?
2) When and where did you acquire this object?
-Was it given to you? By whom?
-Did you find it, buy it, make it? When and where?
3) What does this object/thing mean to you?
4) Where does this object reside? Why do you keep it close?
5) Share a situation or story involving this object
-What memories are triggered when you look at this object?
-When you hold it? Feel it?
-Do you think of a particular person when around this object?
-A particular time or place?
6) Do you feel affected by the presence of this object in your everyday life? Explain or elaborate how.
Conversations will loosely revolve around these topics. Be prepared to discuss the significance of your object in detail, but also to deviate from the questions, as our conversations flow organically.
